This book is an autobiography about my life. My life has been written by others a lot, always by journalists and other writers who have strong opinions about my choices. That’s why I decided to write down my story. I joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP) when I was 24, and was in the jungle for almost ten years. In 2012, I participated in the peace negotiations between the Colombian government and the FARC for 4 years, in Havana, Cuba. Afterwards, I went back to Colombia and started my reintegration process as an ex-fighter after participating in the decommissioning of weapons.
This book is a story of what I have seen and experienced. It may not necessarily coincide with the image many people have of the FARC or Colombia. There are many testimonies available of victims of kidnappings, soldiers, politicians, but this is my story, the testimony of somebody who still believes that another world is possible”.
